The Square of Knowledge and Flavors is much more than a market: it’s a vibrant gathering, a meeting place where producers, artisans, experts, and curious visitors come together to share knowledge, food, and a sense of community. Every event is a unique opportunity to learn something new, sample local products, take home a mindful choice – and maybe make a new friend along the way.

An initiative by Song of the Earth | Il Canto della Terra | la stazione del cibo, a project made possible thanks to the support of the S4T Call for Proposals—Station for Transformation/Stazione Trasformazione—of the Municipality of Rovereto, the Autonomous Province of Trento, and the Trentino-Alto Adige Region, with contributions from Fondazione Caritro, Dolomiti Energia, Keim, and Banca per il Trentino.
It was created and has grown thanks to a broad and extensive network of partnerships.
In the square, you’ll always find:
- Knowledge — hands-on, collaborative workshops for learning through practice
- Flavors — guided tastings of local and seasonal products
- Stories — firsthand accounts from producers and their supply chains
- Selections — carefully curated products to take home
- Exchange — the gathering takes place in the square and continues until 9 p.m.

🌿 Vegetable Explorations: One Vegetable, a Thousand Possibilities
A hands-on, collaborative workshop dedicated to a single underappreciated, little-known, or overproduced vegetable. Where does it come from? How is it transformed? How can we use it creatively and without waste? Through techniques, recipes, and experiments, we’ll explore it in all its forms, building together a small repertoire of ideas to bring into the kitchen every day. The goal? To avoid wasting vegetables from the garden when there’s an abundant harvest.

Can we imagine the Parco della Stazione as a public space that represents us as a community? Together, we’ll map the park’s strengths and weaknesses to build a shared vision of the place.
🧵 Radiant Aprons — with Alica Muratovic Romih, Erasmus+ designer-in-residence
A sewing workshop to decorate the aprons for IRIS, the community climate kitchen set to open in Parco della Stazione.
🫙 Credenza Comune — with Foresta, Accademia di Comunità
Help us launch Credenza Comune, the new free exchange dedicated to kitchen and tableware. Bring plates, cutlery, pots, graters, or other utensils you no longer use: we’ll collect them and make them freely available to everyone.
🍧 Lagarine Granitas and Stories from Stazione Trasformazione — with Foresta, Accademia di Comunità
Cool off with a granita made from Vallagarina products and discover how the Stazione Trasformazione project is transforming the station area into a resource for the entire community.
🎤 Open Mic — with Associazione Echoes
The stage is open to anyone who wants to perform live. A moment of free and shared expression.
🛒 The Farmers’ Market of Knowledge and Flavors
Throughout the event, the market will feature local producers, seasonal products, and much more to discover, taste, and take home.
