In the silence of forests and open fields, one sometimes encounters “guardians” distinguished by solemnity, type, persistence, light, position, and contrast. They are monuments of nature that at once invite us to visit and warn us of its fragility and delicacy. Trusting them is a way to appreciate beauty, find comfort, and enjoy their protection.

The Taste of Encounter will explore how local produce can interact with the food cultures brought about by migration, giving rise to new practices and new forms of tradition. A journey that intertwines community, agriculture and the local area, presented by Amerigo Ambrosi (IUAV Venice – whose work combines the concept of food policy with urban planning, spatial planning and the representation of food systems), Gaia Maronilli (Municipality of Trento – coordinates food policy initiatives and local projects for resilient food systems, including the European SURFIT project), the Val di Gresta and Valle dei Laghi bio-districts, and ATAS. Moderated by Viola Ducati.

An immersive experience in nature to learn how to identify, forage and cook local wild herbs, rediscovering ancient knowledge and authentic flavours. In the morning at the Al Massarem farm, a walk to gather wild herbs, learning to identify them safely. This is followed in Rovereto, at the Oratorio Rosmini, by a cooking workshop to prepare lunch to be enjoyed together. In the afternoon, a herb identification workshop to explore the characteristics, uses and interesting facts about the plants encountered.

La Giacomella is a community caravan that brings public spaces to life and connects people of all ages, from 0 to 99. It offers areas dedicated to shared play, reading, creativity and traditional games, designed to be enjoyed together by children and adults. The aim is to encourage interaction, socialising and imagination through free, simple and fun activities. Inside, the caravan becomes a space open to imagination and spontaneous play, suitable even for families with very young children.

What stories do the dishes you serve tell? What if your kitchen spoke a different language today? This workshop has been created to provide a simple, welcoming space for people to come together, dedicated to discovering the flavours that fill our homes. ATAS invites you to take part in a moment of sharing and conviviality: together, we will prepare dishes that reflect different languages and traditions, transforming cooking into a community experience.

Explore the world of fruit biodiversity in a workshop dedicated to the botanical and scientific analysis of fruit! You will be introduced to the collections from the varietal field at the ISISS Galilei-Bocchialini Farm, which preserves over 500 varieties of pome fruit, stone fruit, olive trees and vines. Through a programme of observation and study, you will discover how the genetic diversity of fruit plants influences their morphological, structural and biological characteristics. An educational experience combining science and nature, where you will take centre stage in botanical analysis. Come and observe, analyse and… discover the secrets of biodiversity!

Plogging’s adventures to clear Rovereto of cigarette butts and litter. Because every cigarette butt left on the ground can end up in the drains… and from there make its way to the sea. A small gesture to look after our city: our shared asset.
A team-based mini-game inspired by Overcooked. Players find themselves managing a kitchen in utter chaos: ingredients to chop, pans threatening to burn, dishes to wash and hungry customers who have no intention of waiting. The game is set in a Trentino kitchen, amidst canederli, polenta and traditional dishes to be prepared as quickly as possible, working together with your team.

The Square of Knowledge and Flavours is a vibrant space where you can discover and take home local produce. Through tastings and short workshops, local producers talk about their work and the stories behind each ingredient. It’s an opportunity to get to know the local area through the people who grow, process and promote its produce.
Hobbyists and budding gardeners will find practical advice and tips on how to grow healthy, rewarding vegetables right on their doorstep. A go-to guide for anyone who wants to turn their vegetable patch into a little daily miracle!

A special occasion to sample new flavours and meet new people. Everyone is welcome to bring something to share, and we’ll also be tasting the dishes prepared during the afternoon workshop, though this isn’t compulsory: if you don’t enjoy cooking or are short on time, you’re still very welcome. The evening will begin with a brief introduction to the dishes and will continue with chit-chat and making new connections.

Superwave is a Greek-British duo comprising Tasos Sotiriou and Leonidas Danezos: musicians, sound engineers and composers, with over twenty years’ experience in the UK before founding the project in Greece. Using instruments such as the Indian bul bul tarang, the Persian santoor, the Greek baglamas, vocals and analogue hardware, Superwave creates a captivating sonic experience: an explosive mix of traditional Eastern elements fused with breakbeat, jungle, drum ‘n’ bass and IDM.

A family hike for families with children, offering a chance to spend time together in the great outdoors, walking at the pace of the little ones. Starting from Camposilvano, at an altitude of 1,000 metres, we will follow the Lupus in Fabula themed trail, opened in 2024 and easy to navigate for almost the entire route, even with a trekking pushchair. The walk takes about an hour and a half and features several points of interest for children of all ages. Departure: 10 am from Camposilvano; bring a packed lunch. Return: around 2 pm.
